Halbmarathon - Half Marathon

Last Sunday -after 4 long years- hubby and me finished a half marathon . It was my personal "I'm fit again"-marker. After a long break it was so good being able again to run so long. It was a huge fun. Also the weather was awesome. My time: 2:17:06h, hubby needed 1:57:42.

Danke Tobi und Lukas fürs Anfeuern!
Thank you Tobi and Lukas for cheering on

Für Lara -For Lara

As a fan of Reinhard Mey I remember this wonderful song "Human -young"

Menschenjunges

Da liegst Du nun also endlich fertig in der Wiege.
Und mir vorzustellen, was Dein Leben bringen mag.

Human-young

Human-young, this is your planet,
Here is your destination, little package.
Friendly bundle, welcome in,
If the life may be here well to you!

Now there you lie, finally, ready in the cradle.
You are still quite fresh and new, and I creep clandestine
To you, and with big self-control only defeats
I the curiosity, you there sometimes get out,
To look at you generally first more exactly.
Thus I am content with it, on your first day
Something move before your cradle to be lying round
And to introduce to me what may bring your life.

If you may find out everybody this and experience everybody this,
What is experience-worth and what is important in the life.
May there are still meadows and trees and cockchafers,
If you are at the cockchafer's collective age.
If nails, marbles, stripping, Litze also may constantly,
Paste, effervescent powder, coloured pencils and flint,
Screwdriver, insulating tape, plasticine and liquorice
Be in stock richly in your trouser pockets!

And one day there comes the day, there I sit anxiously
Helplessly before the school work which one gave up to you.
Become Your arithmetic job not Rau-got,
For the article I have written to you,
If you get if you have a lot of luck no arrest
But as a compensation of it I become with you
Dragons build, pictures mal'n and double-decker fly
And if blowtorch and piano shows you the contact to me.

A few years later then after some bloody noses,
After countless plasters over beat up knees,
After broken window panes, destroyed vases,
To failed education theories.
After recognised ineffectiveness of strict forefingers
If we both make because together every rubbish,
Every coarse nonsense, and then do we all things,
I must forbid to you till then, nevertheless, strictly.

May succeed you, from that for what you plan a lot!
Is contented if it succeeds, and without high spirits,
To promote attempts Your world a small piece,
Is, so well it goes, to your human brothers well!
Well, then I wish you that I become a good father,
The fact that you find friends who love you, and that you
Fun has in the big adventure on the earth!
"Good luck", there what comes up to you.

Letzte Sommertage- Last Summer days

Now the Summer still appears at one's best. I'm locking for the last blossoms of Summer.want to keep hold of them. Today especially bees and butterflies enjoy our Silver candle (cimicifuga). No miracle- its smell like honey is geogeous.

Immer wieder schön: die Sonnenblumen
All time beautiful: the sunflowers

Die Clematis sind auch noch da.
The clematis are still there too.

Clematis tangutica Orange Peel

eine weiße Clematis

Die Rosen blühen noch einmal.
The roses are in flower once more

Neues aus dem Garten- News from the Garden

The summer is coming soon to the end and outside it is already smelling like autumn. In our garden a pumpkin is stretching widely, very widely. Only one plant it should have been- a Hokkaido pumpkin. Now it is growing and growing and already is filling the whole greenhouse.

Acht kleine Kürbisse hat sie hervorgebracht. Wir freuen uns auf reichlich Kürbissuppe.
It has produced eight little pumpkins. We are looking forward to a lot of pumpkin soup.

Inside the glass house slowly it becomes to small for our giant plant. Now it is looking curious out of the window at the top of the roof.

My dear husband has really a green thumb.

Erinnerung an London - Remembrance of London

Ein kürzlich gefundenes Lied hat mich daran erinnert: "Come back to Camden" von Morrissey. Mir gefällt das Lied.
In London we went on the canals of Little Venice by boat to Camden. Sorry the time didn't reach for a stroll at the Camden Markets. A recently found song reminded me on this: "Come back to Camden" from Morrissey. I like the song.

Hier ist der Text zum Lied:
Here are the lyrics of the song:

There is something I wanted to tell you, It's so funny you'll kill yourself laughing
But then I, I look around, And I remember that I am alone, Alone. For evermore

The tile yard all along the railings, Up a discoloured dark brown staircase
Here you'll find, despair and I, Calling to you with what's left of my heart, My heart, For evermore

Drinking tea with the taste of the Thames, Sullenly on a chair on the pavement
Here you'll find, my thoughts and I, And here is the very last plea from my heart
My heart. For evermore, Where taxi drivers never stop talking
Under slate grey Victorian sky, Here you will find, despair and I
And here I am every last inch of me is yours, Yours, For evermore

Your leg came to rest against mine, Then you lounged with knees up and apart
And me and my heart, we knew, We just knew, For evermore

Where taxi drivers never stop talking, Under slate grey Victorian sky
Here you'll find, my heart and I, And still we say come back, Come back to Camden
And I'll be good, I'll be good, I'll be good, I'll be good
