...wird es eng. Wir gehen mutig weiter.
...the trail becomes narrow. We go on brave.

...und wir werden mit einem prächtigen Regenbogen belohnt.
...and get this awesome rainbow as our reward.

Auf dem Kukui Trail wollen wir runter in den Waymea Canyon wandern.

Wir sind auf Maui angekommen. Gleich am ersten Abend sehen wir einen wunderschönen...

Wir fahren zur Nadel, einem dicht bewachsenen Berg mit Tradition...
We go to the Needle, a thickly overgrown mountain with tradition...

...Vor vielen Jahren fanden in diesem schönen grünen Tal fanden heftige Kämpfe statt.
...Many years ago in this beautiful green valley heavy fights happened.

Kurz vor der Road to Hana beobachten wir Leute beim Surfen.

Kraterlandschaft mit Aschekegeln, da wollen wir näher ran.

Wir Wandern auf dem Sliding Sand Trail in Richtung Aschekegel. Wir merken deutlich die dünne Luft.
We are hiking at the Sliding sand trail to the cindercone. We are quiet aware of the thin air.

Pu'u Pua'i Vulkan-Trichter. Hier brach 1959 der Vulkan aus.
Pu'u Pua'i Spatter Cone. In 1959 the volcano was active here.

Abends gehen wir zur fließenden Lava.
In the evening we go to the flowing lava.

Ganz nah können wir rangehen.
We can go very close to the lava.

Big Island- Kohala

Es geht nach Norden ins Kohala-Gebiet.
Kohala ist der älteste Vulkan auf Big Island, der das letzte mal vor etwa 60000 Jahren aktiv war.
We go North into the Kohala district.
Kohala is the oldest volcano at Big Island, 60000 years ago having last sputtered.
